Security Clearance Job Fairs: Who Can Attend?

If you have a passion for security work, and if you are looking for jobs for convicted felons, it is important to remember that your prior felony conviction may not impede your ability to work in this profession. Many felons find they are restricted, to some extent, in working within certain professions but, after a few years, it becomes easier to secure jobs in security clearance.

If you have a non-violent felony, and if you allow a specified period of time to pass. Knowing the Fair Credit Reporting Act requirements for your state, which outline the background requirement issues, will help you in determining if you can qualify for these jobs. In addition, attending the security clearance job fairs, locally, is a great way to get insight into what types of positions are open and how you can engage the human resource staff in discussions about your experience and the hiring process. Positions may include working in juvenile detention or working in retail security. Even if you have a felony, do not let your background prevent you from attending these jobs fairs. Anyone can attend.
The decision to hire, ultimately, is going to be the decision of the employer. But, you can attend and we strongly encourage you to do so – the security clearance job fairs in your locality and in the areas you are willing to move to.
