Being a felon has labeled me unemployable in Ohio. I have been turned down for the easiest jobs which I know am qualified for. It has been 6 yrs since I committed my felony (drugs) and have seen convicted murderers and child molesters get employment over me. Since when does a so-called great nation for all shut the door on those who have changed their lives? I have to college and have a degree and still nothing. Makes me want to consider crime just to eat and then get caught and end up in prison, A vicious cycle I think is part of the plan for our great nation.

I am a seasoned man! I have a family, I am married! I make mistakes, i am not perfect, neither are many fellow americans! I am registered as a felon! Yet i don't live life seeking to do more injustice! I hernestly desire to be a contributing factor to society and my nation! If only employers would stop judging my mistakes, and give me a chance to prove in action that I can be a valuable asset! Raising a family in poverty is this the American Dream? How can any man feel complete without being able to lead by example? To whom ever is reading this! Please consider this? We as America use to stand in friendship, compassion, and brotherly love! Yet if we continue to allow judgement, add self righteousness to dictate, we will only continue to witness the destruction of famlily! I would deeply appreciate if the sponsor of this site, and page can help individuals such as me! Felons need to live too! Thank You Sincerely Mr.Shagun M. Heard Sr and God Bless You!

No one desires to be a felon! Yet the fact remains that being human does mean you make mistakes! Since 1998 I've been in the battle of my life! I've served my sentence since being convicted of manslaughter, yet I'm experience double jeopardy!? Why is it a fact yhat once you make a mistake you're penalized for life?
Employers judge potential hires, yet are they being bias to protect their company,or strictly being judgemental? I have a wife,as well children! Yet the example I must set is denied me because of my past please! Crime is fueled by repeat offenders because those who try to be legit in life are judged, and despised! So many who grow tired of experiencing such hardships return to what so ever is neeeded to survive! America concerns it's self with policing, and helping the needs of the world, yet has allowed the strength of herself to be reduced to outlooks, and fanctions of judgement! I am a man, who desires to be more than a statistic! Yes I am a felon, yet God has forgiven me! Why can't you america?

Every human on this earth makes mistakes! Yet true compassion means to look beyond ones faults, and assit them in their needs to live, and enjoy life!
To deny anyone the right to provide for himself,as well family isn't that murder?
Yet many want to judge me! Please!
