Jobs for Felons: Were They Included in the American Jobs Act?

Jobs for felons are challenging to find, let’s face it. In this distressed economy, felons are finding more and more difficulty in securing jobs, especially jobs for felons that are higher paying careers. If you are challenged to find work, you may wonder if the Obama proposal of the American Jobs Act includes opportunities to encourage employers to hire felons for work. The answer to this question is a simple “no”. But, do not be discouraged. While the American Jobs Act doesn’t specifically address work opportunities for felons, it does open up job opportunities for veterans and other individuals in distress. By doing this, it will leave fewer candidates applying for felon jobs you may be interested in. In addition, if you do not have any education, the American Jobs Act will potentially open more work for lower wage jobs which, typically, provide felons with more work opportunities and options for careers. So, while the American Jobs Act isn’t creating direct jobs for felons, it may open up new opportunities, indirectly, with companies that hire felons.

Professional staffing agencies are providing opportunities, in Texas, in jobs of all industries provided you are more than seven years out from your felony conviction. Even if your own working skill is super couponing, keep in mind that you have a skill set and dig deep. Find out what your skills are and how you can apply those skills into the clients of the professional staffing agencies.
